Fall Skin Care Tips with Chocolate

We just love fall, and when the weather starts to change we start to think of our skincare routine.

While we're just starting to experience much welcome cooler mornings in Southern California, we look forward to more mornings with hot cacao.  Fall is the time of shedding things which have ended their cycle and reaping the bounties of what we have sown. 

Our skin is going through a cycle like the rest of nature.  During the fall, our skin is often shedding off some of the layers that were exposed to the vitamin D giving, but often damaging, sunshine.  While you may have had a boost of UV, you may have also activated some of your skin's natural "defenses" against harmful UV lights including pesky skin discoloration and sun-spots. 

We also change temperature and humidity in the fall, which causes drier skin, making it sensitive to irritants and prone to infections. What's more, fall often means Santa Ana winds for Southern California residents. The extra Santa Ana wind and accompanying airborne particles can leave your skin feeling sand-washed: itchy, tight, dry and even cracked.
